Sri Lanka National Novices Division Chess Championship – 2020

The Sri Lanka National Novices Division Championship conducted by the Chess Federation of Sri Lanka on 10th, 11th and 12th of January in all around Sri Lanka was a great success. The CFSL decided to hold the event in all possible districts from this year and started a Women Novices Championship in all districts as well. A total of 2000 Chess players participated in the event in all districts. These events were the selection events for the Sri Lanka National (Major Division ) open & Women Chess Championships 2020 to be held in first week of February this year.

It is expected that the National Chess Championship this year will be more exciting since the Sri Lanka National Chess Teams participating in the FIDE World Chess Olympiad is selected from the Finals.
